I did a biopsy and have been told I've got prostate cancer. I am panicking. What should I do?

Question 9

Don't panic! Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, but has the advantage that it usually grows very slowlySo you do not need to panic. Your urologist will instruct you on the best strategy for youSome cases of localized cancer may simply be placed under close observation. Other options include radical prostatectomy, brachytherapy and external beam radiation with similar results, but differences in side effects

In cases of more advanced cancer, you may be given a special hormonal therapy in the form of injections or pills. For more information on prostate cancer, please click here
