Andrology

Andrology is the subspeciality of urology that deals with disorders of the male reproductive system. Every urologist studies Andrology as part of his specialty. The two main problems are erectile dysfunction and male infertility.

Erectile dysfunction or impotence effects about one in ten men of all ages. Over the age of 40 about 50% of men are effected! Nevertheless, it remains perhaps the most misunderstood and neglected condition.

Regarding the second condition, it is now believed that in about half of infertility cases, the man is the guilty party. Considering that about 15-20% of couples now have fertility problems, it can easily be deduce that 7.5-10% of men of reproductive age have a fertility problem... Andrology also deals with other conditions, such as ejaculation problems, testicular disease, Peyronie's disease and other disorders of the penis - please refer to the specific sections below.
